For parents
How do I sign up?
Open the join link or scan the QR code your program sent. It opens sign up with the program's family code already filled in. You can also go to theprovenplayer.com/signup and type the family code yourself. Sign up with Google, or with your email and a password.
For now you need a family code from a program, or an invite link from another family, to sign up.
Do I get anything for inviting a family?
Yes. A family who joins with your invite link gets its first month free, and you earn a free month once they have paid for two months, up to 12 a year. After that you earn $10 for each family. When most of your child's team has joined, the families who joined early each get a free month too. Account shows your totals. Billing has not started yet, so rewards wait until it does.
How do I add my child?
Tap Add athlete. It takes five steps: your child, their sports, size and school, your program's family code, and your consent as their parent or guardian. Nothing is saved until the last step.
Skipped the code? Open your athlete's page and enter it under Facilities. You can link more than one program.
My child plays more than one sport.
Tap every sport they play and star the main one. Each sport keeps its own positions, numbers, clips, player card and college profile. Switch between them at the top of your athlete's page, and change the list on the Profile tab.
How do height and weight work?
You add height and weight on the Profile tab. Each is saved with its date and marked as entered by a parent. We never ask for weight before 13, and a weight for a child under 13 on the day it was measured is refused. Height and weight never appear on a player card, in a team post or to teammates.
Can I test my child at home?
Yes, with or without a program. On your athlete's page tap Home test, pick a sprint or a jump that fits the sport, and follow the setup: how to mark the distance, how to start and how many tries. Enter the best try. For a sprint you can time it from a video instead: pause on the first movement and on the chest crossing the finish, and the app works out the time. You can keep the video as a clip.
A home test is saved as Parent measured and labeled that way on the athlete page, the card, reports and profiles. Only numbers a program measures count as verified.
What is Open to teams?
A way for travel and club coaches to find your athlete by their numbers, even without a showcase. It is off until you turn it on, one sport at a time, on your athlete's page. Only coaches with a background check from the last 12 months at a program we approved can look. They see the first name and last initial, an age group such as 10U, the state you type (and the town once at least three listed players in the sport share it), and that sport's numbers with their dates, each marked program verified or parent measured. Never a photo, video, exact age, birth date, school, your name or how to reach you.
A coach can send you one short message. We email you that a coach from their program wrote, and you read it in the app. Reply to open a thread with that coach (your athlete is never in it), decline, or block the coach. Turn Open to teams off at any time and your athlete leaves every search at once. More in our privacy policy.
Who can see my child's record?
You, and the coaches at each program you link with its family code. Unlink a program on your athlete's page and its coaches lose access.
Other families see nothing unless you turn on Share with my team on the player card. Then the families of your child's teammates and the coaches at their programs see the card and the wins you share, inside the app only. Turn it off at any time and they disappear at once.
When does the college profile open?
The college profile is a private page for college coaches with one sport's details, measured numbers and the clips you pick. It opens when college coaches in that sport may start contact: August 1 before junior year in baseball, the Wednesday after Labor Day of junior year in lacrosse, and September 1 of junior year in every other sport.
Add your child's grade on the Profile tab first, then turn the profile on from your athlete's page. Only people with the link can open it, and turning it off stops that link for good.
What is the high school profile?
A private page for middle and high school coaches, from 7th grade on. It shows your child's numbers in every sport over the years, each with its date, device and program, the milestones they passed, any endorsement a coach at your program wrote, and the clips you pick with Show on profile links. It never compares your child with other kids. Turn it on from your athlete's page; turning it off stops that link for good.
What is a team recruiting page?
A team's coaches can make one link for college coaches that lists the team's players. Your child is on it only if you list them under Team recruiting pages on your athlete's page, and only once college coaches in that sport may contact their class. Coaches cannot list your child. Take them off at any time.
Who saved my child's profile?
High school and college coaches can make a free coach account and save a profile from a link you or your program sent them, with their own notes. They can never search for or browse players. Your athlete's page shows how many coaches saved a profile and each one's school and level, never their notes. Turning a link off removes it from every coach's list.
I am a high school or college coach. How do I save players?
Make a free coach account at theprovenplayer.com/coach/signup with your school, level and sport, and confirm your email. Then open any profile link a family or program sent you and press Save player. Your saved players and notes are at theprovenplayer.com/coach.
Where are team announcements and the schedule?
On the Team page in the app and the Team tab on the phone, free for every family on a team. Coaches post announcements to your child's team or the whole program; they are for parents, and nobody can reply. The schedule lists your child's teams' practices, games and tryouts by week, and Add to calendar saves one to your phone or computer calendar.
We email you when there is a new announcement, when an event in the next 7 days is added, moved or canceled, the evening before each event, and about three days before a game to start hydrating: at most one email an hour per team, never with your child's name. Turn each kind off under Alert emails on your Account page.
What does it take to play in college?
The College path shows, for each sport, the ranges college coaches look for at each level, scholarship limits, the odds and the dates coaches may reach out, every figure with its source. The scholarship roadmap turns it into a year by year plan from your child's age to senior year. From 9th grade, Where you stand on your athlete's page sets their program measured numbers beside those ranges, never beside other kids.
Do you have advice on food, sleep or supplements?
Yes. Fuel, sleep, train covers what to eat and drink before and after practice and games, hydration in the heat, sleep by age and what pediatric guidance says about supplements for kids under 18, with every source listed. Signed in, you can also ask questions in Ask ProvenPlayer, which answers from the same guide.
What is the habits check-in?
About 30 seconds a week on your athlete's page, under Three legs: how many nights they slept enough for their age, days with breakfast, what they mostly drank, training days and, if you like, how they felt. Home and the bell remind you from Friday until it is in, and we email you on Sunday evening if it is still missing (turn that off under Alert emails on your Account page). The card shows the last 4 weeks of training, fuel and sleep with one tip each from Fuel, sleep, train.
Only you and other parents on the record see it, never other families, and it is never compared with other kids. Your program's coaches with a current background check see it only if you turn on Share habits with my child's coaches for that program. Delete check-ins on the card removes them all.
Can I stop the monthly email?
On the 1st, if your athlete was measured the month before, we email you that their monthly report is ready. The email names no child and carries no numbers; the report is behind sign in. Turn off Monthly report email on your Account page; the same switch also stops the progress emails below.
What is the then and now report?
Your program measures a baseline, then retests about every 90 days. After each retest your athlete's page shows Progress since baseline: each number then and now, the change and how many days it took, measured by the program. Numbers you measured at home are shown apart and never mixed in. We email you when new progress results are ready, at most once a week. You can share an image of the numbers, with no photo.
My child tried out. Where are the results?
Scan the QR code on the bib card, or open the link in the results email. Sign up or sign in, pick your child (or add them) and you see the result, what went well and what to work on. Only you see it, and never another child or a ranking. The numbers measured at the tryout go on your child's record.
Already on ProvenPlayer? The results show on your athlete's page once the coaches release them.
How do I delete my account?
On your Account page, choose Delete account. It removes your children's records, clips and readings for good.
What do you do with our data?
You own the account, and nothing is sold or used for advertising. Our privacy policy explains what we keep and why.
For coaches and programs
New to ProvenPlayer? The coach quick start walks through every step, from creating your program to the monthly report.
How do I set up my program?
Sign up, choose I run or coach a program, and add your facility, team or league. You get two codes: a family code for parents and a staff code for your coaches. Only the owner sees the staff code. Coaches sign up and join with it under Create or join a program.
Programs pay nothing.
How do families join?
Your program page has an Invite your families panel: copy your join link or a ready message, share it, or print a flyer with a QR code. Each athlete a family adds through it is linked to your program.
How do I message my families?
On your program page, Team updates has Post announcement (to one team or the whole program, up to 2,000 characters and a link) and Add event (practice, game, tryout or other, for one team). Parents of the athletes on that team read them on their Team page and get an email. Messages go to parents only, one way. You can edit or delete an announcement for 10 minutes; a canceled event stays on the schedule marked Canceled.
Why can I not post or reply?
Every staff member, the owner included, needs a background check from the last 12 months to post to the team feed, post announcements, add events, reply in Coach Plan threads or answer review requests. The owner records the date the check came back clear under Staff on the program page. We do not run the check.
How do tryouts work?
Create a tryout from Tryouts in the app menu, check kids in by bib number, rate them on your phone and pick Made, Maybe or Cut on the board. Kids not on ProvenPlayer are a bib number only, with no name stored. Each family gets a bib card and a private email, and sees only their own child's result and feedback. The board stays with the coaches. The coach guide has the steps.
How do I find new players?
Find players in the app lists the athletes whose parents turned on Open to teams. You need a background check from the last 12 months, and ProvenPlayer approves each program first. Search by sport, age group, state or town and a number, such as a 30 yard sprint under 4.8 seconds. Each number shows its date and whether a program verified it or a parent measured it at home.
Ask to talk sends the parent your name, your program and a short message with no links, up to 20 a week. The parent decides whether to reply. You never message an athlete, and a parent can block you.
Who sees the numbers I record?
The athlete's parents and the staff of each program the athlete is linked to. Every reading carries its date and the device or source it came from. Athletes below sixth grade are never ranked against each other, except on a tryout board, which only coaches see.
